I found this obituary the other day. I didn't write it, but I wish I had. Enjoy.
Common Sense Obituary
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend,Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: 1) Knowing when to come in out of the rain; 2) Why the early bird gets the worm; 3) Life isn't always fair; and 4) maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers: 1) I Know My Rights; 2) I Want It Now; 3) Someone Else Is To Blame; and 4) I'm A Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
Increasingly I see folks using the term "common sense" to mean "whatever I want" or "whatever I think", thereby attempting to make their own preferences and opinions sound more important than they really are, and/or attempting to rationalize their ignorance of the fact that reasonable people could actually disagree with them.
So given that the term "common sense" no longer has any substantive and worthwhile meaning, it would be nice if the term, itself, truly was dead. If it was, then ...
Perhaps a few more people would have to confront the reality of living in community with others rather than just living for what's best for one's self and one's own.
Perhaps a few more people would have to consider that we don't all have to live or love or have fun or express ourselves the same way to be entitled to be treated the same way.
Perhaps a few more people would have to acknowledge that their callousness only thinly veils the selfishness and egoism that they want to practice with impunity.
Perhaps a few more people would have to come to terms with the fact that everyone else has as much human worth as they have.
So let's hope that we can bury "common sense" once and for all, rid its tattered legacy from our collective consciousness, and move forward focused on care and compassion for each other, instead of so-called "common sense".

Common Sense Obituary...
I believe there was some confusion in the above.
Common Sense was on the Oprah Show last week, where he explained that she is now a transsexual showgirl person appearing in Las Vegas under the name of Tondelayo Fuqua. The deceased is actually Common Sense's former spouse, Pay-It-No-Mind, who was tragically killed in Iowa last week when she was run over by a bandwagon while demonstrating for gluten-free Social Security. In addition to Ms. Fuqua she is survived by their adult conjoined triplets, Nope, Dope and Mope.
Sigh. It looks like the inanely cynical perversion of the term "common sense" will continue rationalizing egoistic and antisocial behaviors for many years to come, and that care and compassion for each other will have to take a back seat to self-motivated conduct.
