Cracking and popping gum.

Snuffing mucus back up your nose rather than blowing it. This really grosses me out.

Hoinking out mucus to clear your throat. Another gross thing.

Nails on a chalk board.

People who clack their dentures together.

Although C24L's sound of a rattler at my feet gives me heart-stopping heebie-jeebies, the dull sound of a hammer coming down on a thumbnail makes me shiver and wince. It gives me the screaming heebie-jeebies if it's my thmb.

The several seconds of music that precede a breaking news announcement in the middle of a broadcast TV program. Every time, it makes me relive the days surrounding 9/11/01. I don't think I'll ever get over that helpless feeling.

I'm another one who can't stand the sound of brushing teeth, even my own. I have to put music on or run the water (I know that's bad) or I'll get ill.

I also can't stand the sound of brown paper rubbing against itself... like grocery bags shifting together. Ugh.
