I would love to get my hands on the person who came up with or invented _________ and give them a "big ole smackaroo smooch" for their great idea

I agree with both of these but probably the Air Conditioning the most - I hate to be hot.
Also I'd add the washing machine and dryer - so happy I have these.

I'll second that. We should get into the 90's today. Dh is on the lawn mower (that's not a bad invention--riding to mow the lawn), so I am going to make something cold in the kitchen. Oh, yes, the refridgerator, and while we are at it the electric stove and the dishwasher and the washer and dryer. I was five years old when the REA "juice" was hooked up to our house. Dad had the house wired and a brand new maytag washer and a GE refridgerator ready to go on day one. Considering there were five children and two adults, Mom really put that washer to work. I don't think I have ever seen anybody so happy as she was with that washer.

Good old smooches for:
So many good answers...I think that I agree with all of them. Smooch' to the inventor
of:
1. Automatic transmissions. Taught myself to drive on an old DeSoto that had both manual and auto. Just flipped a switched, etc. Here going up hills and having to come to a stop, kind if 'fun' to put left foot on clutch, right foot on brake and getting ready to slide on over to accelerator.
2. Queen sized beds!!! Ahhhhhh, comfort.
3. MAC computers...love 'em...
4. 9-1-1 centers. (of course, since I was a dispatcher for many years)
5. Turn signals...used to hate to have to 'roll' the window down and stick my arm out in rainy/snowy weather to signal my intentions.
I definitely go with the washing machine and dish washer.
I wouldn't want to cook over an open fire day in and day out so my induction cooker is the best thing in my kitchen.
Moreover what would I do with out Pampers - wash all the dirty diapers - boo....
