With so much negativity in the world and people not getting involved, I wanted to share something that happened in our area.

A Greyhound bus was carrying passengers from NYC to Montreal, when the driver noticed the bus was having some mechanical difficulty, so he pulled off to the side of the road. Conditions being what they were, the bus got stuck in the snow. The passengers, including a 10 month old and some elderly folks, were stuck in the bus without heat. Several hours later, around 5 a.m., a gentleman was on his way to work and pulled over to see what was going on. When he saw how cold and hungry they were, he managed to get the people to his house (he must have made several trips to get all 2 dozen of them there), gave them shelter, snacks and coffee until Greyhound managed to get a replacement bus to his house, where they picked them up and brought them to their destination.

THere's my nice neighbor story for the day.

That's a nice story especially since I travel Greyhound. To add to his good deed you might want to know that bus travelers I've met aren't necessarily from the same economic strata that plane travelers are. He must have been a very nice man.

Can you imagine taking all those people in? Every one of them a stranger. There were Hasidic Jews, French Canadians, even people from the Bahamas or somewhere like that (you know the accent). One woman was on her way back home after she'd found out her son had had a heart attack. It was a very, very kind thing for him to do, IMO. The Lord says when you help the least of my brethern.....

That's a good philosophy to have. It must have been an interesting scene, but I personally think it would have been fun. Often when on the bus to NYC I'm one of maybe two or three whites, and I do have a blast talking to everyone.

Default Great story...m

That was certainly a very feel good story. I am sure that the Good Samaritan benefited from this experience just as much or more as those he helped.

when they showed him on tv, it looked like he was really enjoying himself. And, as they were leaving, one young lady took him by the hands and, with tears in her eyes, told him that he and his wife are "good people". A nice story to start off the day.
