Hi! I responded to a post (that was REALLY late) by accident because my life is hectic, but I always have good intentions. For someone it was extremely important to point this out to me. Why? I am honestly curious why people feel the need to make others feel dumb? I may be the minority, especially after reading what some people write on here, but is it not just so wonderful to make people feel special, of interest, important, like their opinion matters? Things are hard enough in this world...give others a chance..what goes around comes around!!

Because some people on this forum are dumb, crazy, and stupid. They post things that are opinions and not facts.

I usually like to tell people if they are posting to a dead thread, I would want to know if I was doing the same, and unless they are making a good valid point or adding some important info, its not necessary, know what I mean? when I do it i'm not trying to be mean, just trying to help

Could have been unintentional, perhaps you may have misinterpreted it, lots o stuff to go wrong in just words, but yes some do go out of their way to intentionally belittle others, why well that’s anybody’s guess.

But if your gonna run with the big dogs learn the ropes or just stay on the porch , ok just kidding around so don’t anyone think different, never feel that your opinion is any lesser than the next one, if ya got something to say then by god spit it out even if some think it may not be so so that still leaves some thinking it’s a good opinion, the bad ones can get under everyone’s skin but just shake it off and keep peckin at the board.

I think the hardest part is trying to work out if they actually are being rude or not. It's so hard to tell in this format sometimes.
If you're not sure, you could always ask for clarification?
Just noticed I'd landed myself in it with someone for, what I thought were fairly mild comments. You just never know what's going to tick someone off.

Bottom line though, you're not always going to get along with everyone, no matter where you are, so I know it's difficult sometimes, but try not to take things to heart. For all the not so fun, rude or confusing responses you might come across I'm sure there are ten times more great responses from good people. Focus on them.

There's a walmart by my house that I think being rude is a requirement to work there.

I think we all have our moments, some better than others. Disagreement in all its forms is a constant. In a perfect world there would be no offenses, therefore no need for defenses. It is encouraging to know there is a place where we can safely express our opinions as passionately as needed, air our grievances as loud as we want and voice our approval or disapproval. Sometimes this may not be polite or well mannered, but when u take the high road or decide to be the bigger person, u ignore an insult, bear with the feeble minded and when necessary u give as good as u get...

I notice it alot, particularly in the PA and Alaska forums. I don't think it comes down to them making you feel dumb as much as thinking they are better than you overall.
