NEW YORK, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- New York defense lawyer John Jacobs continues to receive voice-mail messages three years after he was buried with his beloved cell phone.
Jacobs' family buried him with his fully charged Motorola T720 phone after he died of pancreatic cancer, the New York Post reported Sunday.
Why, so he can make sure he's not in the 'dead zone'??
Sorry that was kinda twisted.
Actually, why is the number still any good, and is someone still paying for the plan?
There's nothing creepy about sticking a cell phone in the coffin. Its battery obviously won't last long, and the reception would be terrible, so the voice-mail technology involved happens entirely above ground. If he starts returning calls - then I'll be impressed!
It would make a cool Verizon Wireless commercial for Halloween, with the "Can you hear me now? Good." guy popping out of a coffin...
