I was looking down the lists and there were several that caught my eye, but I really got a kick out of the cities with the most beauty shops. There was only one in my state that ranked. The city was Cary. LOL

Does this mean that Cary has the best groomed ladies in North Carolina or the ladies that need the most help to look good. Sorry, I just found the list funny.

Which list do you like and why?

Oops! It wasn't a city, it was a zip code. I love lists like this.

Here is another one that caught my eye. Did we have a flood along the Mississippi that year? Why so many deaths in Virginia?

Statistics always tell a story.

Please feel free to move this thread if I put it in the wrong place. I couldn't figure out where it should go, so "Other topics" covers just about everything. I forget to use question marks too. This thread is a question.

I didn't even know CD had those list.

I like the one '101 cities with the most people leaving home to go to work at strange times'.

And the winner is Akutan, Arkansas at 71%.
Wonder who the big odd employer is? There are only a little less than 800 people in the whole town.

That is one more interesting town. Main places where people worked are Water transportation, Railway transportation and food service??

You really found a good one. There is a list of all the 101 lists the town made and it looks to be about 25 or more. I am just guessing, I did not count. Diversity was incredible too.

The city-data listing for Akutan, Alaska does not really paint a clear picture. The main industry there is processing fish and crab. If you ever watch the show "The Deadliest Catch", some of the featured boats offload their catch at Akutan. One has to really want to live there. The weather can be down right nasty. The nearest major medical facility is several hours away by plane. The cost of living is high. Most everything comes by boat. You might only get supplies a couple times a year. When you shop for groceries, you probably are getting 6 months worth of grub.

Amazing,,,,, Now I find out that I’m living in the wrong place for most all of the categories that I checked into.

How about this town. My #2 son gets to spend a lot of time there.

I didn't know CD had these lists either.
This one caught my eye: http://www.city-data.com/top2/h195.html
as well as this one: http://www.city-data.com/top2/h197.html

The top cities and towns are all college towns, so it's to be expected.

This one is pretty interesting as well: http://www.city-data.com/top2/h183.html
most of the towns listed are in CA.

this one surprised me http://www.city-data.com/top2/h36.html. I thought for sure Manhattan would be #1, but instead some place in AK is!
