I am curious what other people's personal values are? If you could list 5-20 personal values of yours, what would you list?

What are the most important?

(This is a serious question, please answer it appropriately).

Thank you.

Let me answer by interjecting some unnecessary drama;
Everything I thought I held close in that regard is in question since I recently broke a major one (set of values, standards...) I never thought I would.

My personal value would be treating people with respect being respected in return.

Treat everyone you meet with courtesy and respect...regardless of whether they are the CEO or the guy who empties your trash can at the office.

If you take on a job or responsibility, do it to the best of your ability, don't half-ass it, give a dollars work for a dollars pay.

Just because everyone else is doing it, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

Never make fun of someone's lack of education, finances, or handicap's.

Respect the elderly, if you're fortunate enough, you will be someday too.

YouTube - jay-z - justify my thug - The Black Album

I really liked that song as the line: "I never asked of anyone what I did not ask of myself"

Above all:
1.Honesty.

Only when you are dealing with things as they truely are, can you ever expect to progress or strengthen what you have.

2. Loyalty
3. Ethical equal treatment
4. True empathy
5. Monetary conservatism

Compassion, conviction, and personal responsibility are the top three I can think of right now.

Treat others with respect and expect it for yourself

Always take the opportunity to help someone if you can

Be honest, forgiving and humble

Say "I'm sorry" when you need to

Take care of your responsibilities whether it's your marriage, job, kids, etc.

Be ready for ANYTHING (including the whole continent sinking into the ocean), and never get too comfortable with any person, place, or thing.

Here are my major ones:
1. If you want something, work for it instead of expecting someone to hand it to you.
2. Take responsibility for your actions. Own up to your mistakes, learn something, and move on.
3. When life hands you lemons, make lemonade instead of ******ing about it.
4. If you say you are going to do something, follow through.
5. Put yourself in the other person's shoes before attempting to make judgments.

One of my favorite mottos: Every time you point a finger, you have 3 others pointing back at you.

- do as I please
- convey respect to all
- don't bank on anything or rely on anybody
- have an open-mind
- accept that nothing is fixed, and that nothing is absolute
- don't convey prejudices, or even have prejudicial beliefs
- disassociate with others who don't hold a wholesome heart. I have no supreme obligation to associate with anybody
- accept that nothing in life is certain, and nobody can have absolute insight into everything
