I am not sure how many of City Data pagans - or in my case, eclectic pagans, practice spells and rituals. Not all do.

A Book of Shadows is kind of like a "pagan cookbook". Indeed, many kitchen witches use various herbs and positive intentions in their cooking, when it is appropriate.
In a book of shadows, pagan practitioners write down rituals and spells that have been helpful, so they can use them for future reference.

Here is an example - https://kennarose.wixsite.com/kennar...5hf3_vpyDagryo

I do not practice rituals very often, but I do use candle magic, kitchen witchery, prosperity and happiness rituals on occasion.

I do keep a record of them, and use it as a reference. Mine is currently in a spiral notebook. It is private, but I have no problem sharing these rituals with friends. I also include the properties of various crystals, gem stones. herbs, colors and more.

Do you keep your own Book of Shadows?

I started one a long time ago. I put some of the spells that I did in it. I haven't written in it in many years.

I don't.

I've got some good herbal books, but no spells in them, just scientific analysis of their composition. The Germans are really into that aspect of herbs, analyzing them, running controlled tests on them. All very useful. I recommend for anyone that is seriously interested instead of relying on old wives tales. I've seen German herbal analysis online, so it isn't hard to find.

I don't use spells by the strict definition. Mostly its about communication and I suppose either you are a good communicator or you are not. The gods see fit to answer you, or they don't.

Or what about a reverse book of shadows? Filled with all the spells and curses you've broken.

I have more than one BoS also keep journals and notebooks. Few years ago I got into making junk journals and viewing Youtube for inspiration. I notice some persons also make pagan BoS which I then like to view. Seen a YTvideo who besides his regular black BoS had a wooden box with index cards as an alternative BoS. The Youtube BoS I see in junk journals styles are way more elaborate decorated than what a BoS used to be years ago and nicely decorated.
I am thinking about besides making my regular junk journals to make some jj related to paganism.
Usually make TN (travellers notebook insert) format which is like 8" by 4.5" and I also do A5 size which is the A4 paper folded in half.Mostly tea dye my papers and did coffee dye twice, but prefer tea as it is nicer warm hues. I also do herbals/golden onion peels dyed papers and my latest was amaryllis petals papers.
My main interest is herbalism and most of my books are on that. I also like candles. I make most of my own pagan supplies.

I have kept a journal for many years now. I wrote it in almost everyday back in the '90s. Then I stopped keeping it for a long time. I started back up about 6 years ago. I don't write in it every day-only when I feel like I have something to write about.
