WATERFORD, Ohio -- A 2-year-old Ohio boy has died two weeks after he fell into a septic tank while the woman watching him was putting up Christmas lights.

Benson Baker had been on life support at a Columbus hospital since he went into the tank and was critically hurt on Nov. 23. The sheriff's office in southeast Ohio's Washington County said it was notified that the child from Waterford died on Wednesday.

A septic tank is usually buried. The lid is usually made of concrete. The homeowner who left the house in this shape is the perso to blame, not a baby sitter who would have had no idea the homeowner could be so stupid.

Isn't an uncovered septic tank a health violation? How did it not over flow with every rain? Was there not a horrible smell? Was it a new septic tank that hadn't been installed yet?

The lid on our septic was made of thick heavy concrete. We had not buried it under the dirt but it was not going to be moved by a small child and I did not even let my kids play near it because I had the irrational fear it would somehow come dislodged (kind of like the same fear I have of not letting my kids near the edge of a balcony even though they are behind a fence or wall).

So sad.

How is this parenting forum news? Seriously.

I wish John The News Guy would stop posting death and abuse stories of children.

This news has nothing to do with parenting.

I agree. I would like to see these posts deleted or a new forum created for people who like to read this garbage.
