I've gone blank in my head.. this child, age 4, won't eat ANY veggies...except for
french-fries & mashed potatoes. He won't eat corn.
If it looks like a veggie.. for get it!

On occasion I can pass off cooked puree'd cauliflower prepared as cheesy mashed potatoes.
That's it for his vegetable repertoire ..
He hardly eats the tomato sauce on spaghetti preferring butter.

Disguises, magic tricks, and artistic license welcome..(please!)

I could use some input on recipe ideas... (no lectures on forcing food ~ I don't intend to.
[Yes] I know kids can go for a year or more on just pb&j's.. that's not the direction please).

thanks!

You don't get up until you eat your veggies >: D! No but serious just don't give him the other 2 options and look for more neutral veggies. ALso how about salads? You can make them with like a raspberry dressing. The sweet might make it more appealing. You can put in some bacon, egg, croutons,a little cheese, and walnuts, along with baby spinach, onions, carrots, broccoli, radish or some other things. You can also do more stews, or meals that have veggies like quiches or casseroles.

He snubbed chicken noodle soup (no veggies in it tho).. who doesn't like chx noodle soup when you're 4?
If I cooked some vegetables, put them into the blender, and then added butter, it JUST MIGHT work as a
"sauce" for those darn potatoes.

Really I'm so hard pressed.. THINK

Why are you killing yourself? Seems to me healthy HABITS are more important than getting a veggie into him right this minute. Sounds like you are setting yourself up for short order cooking.

My recommendation is just cook like you normally do - put the veggies on his plate every time and just ask him to try it. Just one bite. Leave it at that.

It might take a while but he eventually might start liking some of them. Just giving them a try each time will help him do that. You aren't forcing him to finish - just asking him to try. Let's face it - as adults we don't always like every vegetable. Some we like, some we don't.

Cook them the way you like them too - he might like things a little "fancier" if that makes sense, and not just a cooked carrot on a plate.

My 18 year old still doesn't like mashed potatoes (seriously something I can't understand!) or asparagus. But he does like brussel sprouts and turnips. Go figure.

My wife makes fruit smoothies, but always drops spinach in the smoothie. Does he/she like fruit?
