Certainly feel bad for her.

I am glad my kids are better looking than I am. When my youngest was born, he didn't look anything like me, and I (kiddingly) told my wife we'd be having a DNA test done on him.

I am a white woman from an irish family. I have curly hair which my Mother In Law seems as some sort of horrid, ugly defect. Infact she has tried to hint numerous times that there must be "some black" in me as that is how you "get curly hair" During my pregnancy with my daughter she kept saying "I hope the baby doesn't get your fro / friz / kink" etc, which pissed me off to no end. Well... looks like the baby has a curl to her hair so MIL can suck it! She was showing a picture of my daughter online, someone commented that the baby was a "pretty girl" and she worte back, "yes, except for the hair and pig nose which can be fixed."

So yeah....adults can be dumb. I told her to stop saying hurtful things about the baby and she accused me of "attacking her".

Timemachine. Your MIL has a serious problem. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she doesn't start talking to your daughter like this so be careful. It could do a great deal of harm.

That's just soooo wrong. Sometimes I really do wonder about people. Has she never looked at a photo book on Ireland and seen how many people have red, curly hair?

Which personally I love. Hang in there. I feel for you.
