And I mean to actually conceive, carry and deliver your own biological child.

What's your reason? Is it emotional? Biological? Spiritual?

Not passing judgement. Just want to know others' thoughts on the subject.

Because they want to and it is their right...

Fairly simple to answer your question.....

Average cost of adoption: $10,000 -$15,000
Average cost of surrogacy: $80,000 - $100,000
Cost of my kid with good health insurance: $300

So I guess you could see it from the cost point of view.

I did not know you needed a logical reason.

I will say this - I was healthy and happy when I was pregnant so that was a benefit.

The only logical reason is they have a drive to and want to.

Adoption is hard but not as hard as people imagine. People are often turned off by the cost and the perceived difficulties. Fostering is extra hard, but also not the nightmare most people expect.

But birth. Adoption, step parenting. Fostering etc...its part of our genetic make up to want to. Some people have less of the drive, some have more. But...its part of life.

The decision to be a parent, regardless of how it's accomplished, is not something that is based on logic and rationality.

Give me one logical, rational reason for falling in love.

I submit that if you do not have a logical, rational reason for the decisions you make in your life, you might need to think a little harder about why it is that you do what you do.

So, why?

Ok - it's not logical. That's an actual answer, believe it or not. Thanks!
