The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) met last week and recommended flu mist vaccine for all healthy kids ages 2-8. The CDC usually follows their recommendations. The American Academy of Pediatrics has not yet issued a position on this recommendation. Please note I do not agree with everything in this link.

The ACIP says flu mist has better efficacy. Your kid is an exception, but a good exception.
