this.

I'm sure magritte has good intentions but soon she'll figure out that with teenagers and the internet...there's no way you'll be able to prevent them from visiting sites you dissaprove of. if they want to, they will. there's probably dozens of kids at her daughter's school with unchained iphone internet access-porn galore!

same with sex. teenagers couldn't care less about their parents' opinions of watching porn or having sex...even if you locked them up in a solitary confinement cell and handcuffed them they'd still find ways to watch porn and have sex. The higher you dangle the carrot, the more the bunny wants it and will employ increasingly elaborate methods to get it. It's been proven that parenting in margitte's style of shaming porn and "forbidding sex" (you can't forbid your kid from having sex, it's their body, not yours) largely ends up with adult sex junkies and teen pregnancies. but if that's the way she wants to do it, this is a free country

Every once in awhile I'll sit with my kids and put videos on of cats and dogs doing silly stuff or of babies dancing and laughing. There's this one baby (actually, he's a young child now) named Miles, I think, and he laughed at ANYTHING, it's hysterical to watch. That kid is the happiest kid I've ever seen.

3.5 seems young to me, because my son wouldn't have known about Minecraft at that age, he was barely watching Playhouse Disney stuff back then. But he's 10 now, and yes, he loves watching other people play video games on youtube. Minecraft and Skylanders and a couple of others. I don't get it, but it's pretty common. My son has started recording his own videos and posting them on a private youtube channel.

I know several kids that started playing minecraft at that age.. ...normally starting with parental or sibling help.

Funny story....one almost three year old boy thought that filling his brothers minecraft world eith chickens was the height of hilarity....for his birthday last year the older brother (age 7ish) let him lose in this world to chicken-fi it. It was a sweet gesture from a sibling thst age.

I admit I am shocked at people that have 4 year olds that can't use a computer though.

Mine can't because I never let her use the computer (she only watches youtube videos if I put them on) although I'm sure she could figure it out if given the chance but she doesn't need to learn to use it yet and I'd rather she didn't.

That's ridiculous to be honest. Kids are using computers in most preschools and certainly kindergarten. ..why would you keep you child dumbed down and away from resources?

They're not using computers here until they go to school and that's another three years away, plenty enough time for learning to use a computer when she's a bit older.

There are many child friendly websites younger children can visit to familiarize themselves with the technology.
