My partners' mother died while pregnant with him. Preeclampsia was the cause. They removed him from her prematurely, after she was declared brain dead.

He is now 47, and is struggling with this. He is having a difficult time trying to find someone who has experienced this very same thing.

I have tried to help him, but have found out that I cannot, as I had my mother for almost 50 years.

He has been through intense therapy, but he really wants to meet someone and talk to someone that has been through this.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

He may have a hard time finding someone who has experienced what he did since a lot of advances in neonatal care didn't happen until the 1990s.

There is a really interesting book called Baby ER by Edward Humes that might offer him some insight. Unfortunately preeclampsia is still a leading cause of both maternal and infant deaths.

Not the same thing, but a similar experience if he would join an adult adoptees group. Those are people who lost their mother at a young age and were raised by someone else. They don't know if their bitrh mother died or not, but they know she was lost to them.
