When do you stop giving birthday parties for your kids?

Where the heck do you work that coworkers throwing a fit when no one brings them cake/balloons is a common enough occurrence to be irritating?! Sounds like a very strange job.

I was wondering the same thing. In 30+ years of working (both in the public and private sector) I've never heard of this being an issue.
