I do like the idea of a first and middle name that can be used as initials - like Theodore Joseph could be TJ. That seems like a good option for a boy.
To me, "Theodore" will always refer to the Rough Rider, our 26th president. But that's just me.
Was talking about him just the other day in regards to the current pool of presidential hopefuls - been a while since either party has put forth a "larger than life " candidate like Roosevelt,

Are you kidding? There's a day-glo man with a dead squirrel on his head campaigning right now.
Logan is not just a trendy new name - one of the best sci fi movies ever made was Logan's Run (the original version from the 70's). That's why I like the name.
I don't think being "biblical" makes a name "legit."
Being Biblical is not a requirement for me to consider a name legitimate. Katherine is one of my favourite names, but it's not found in the Bible, and at the same time it's very legitimate.
And Logan may not be a "new" name per se, but it has seen immense popularity recently and fits in well with current trends. My "legitimacy" criterion for surnames like Logan is that they have to be used in decent amounts (at least 100 uses annually) for at least 80 years. Logan has fulfilled that requirement since only 1976. That was 39 years ago, and 39 is less than 80. (I'm not counting 2016 because it's only 7 April and besides, the name data only date to 2014. Logan has been used at least 100 times in 39 different years.)
And if my standards for being legit aren't enough, I'm also just plain not a fan of Logan as a given name.
My nephew's name is Logan. It was also one of my preferences before we had our son. I obviously like the name, but as others have said it has become very common. Depending our the trends in your area, there could easily be three or four Logans in his grade once he gets to school. It is still a good choice overall.
Cooper just sounds goofy to me for some reason. It is almost one of those names where you expect it to have some family connection to it (i.e. the boy was named Cooper after an older relative). It just doesn't seem like a name that someone would just pick out willy-nilly.
That leaves Gabriel, which I happen to like. There is the biblical connection as well as the fact that it is common enough to not be odd, yet not common enough to have a bunch of them in the same place at the same time.
whenever you are deciding on a name,,also consider the nick-name,,,
I like the name Victoria...but don't care for Vicky..
if you name a kid cooper,,,he will most likely be a coop'
logan is a pretty safe name....
One of my best friends back in college had a roommate named Cooper. We all called him "Coop". Aside from Cooper Manning (Peyton and Eli's brother), he was the only other Cooper that I have come across. It is a very common last name of course, but it just doesn't seem to flow well as a first name.
Aside from a couple of people in my sister-in-law's family calling him "Logie" (which I hate), my nephew Logan hasn't developed a long-standing nickname. It's not one of those names that has a natural nickname or shortening to it.
