Orlando, FL (AHN) -- A Florida couple has traded the right to name their baby for a $100 gas card.

David Partin, 26, told the Orlando Sentinel that "times are rough," so to have some free gas is worth giving up the right to name his baby.

Not surprising. Desperation seeks out desperation.

At least it's a somewhat sensible name.

Still, "Hey, kiddie, we wanted a $100 so we let some random dudes on a radio station name ya!"....

Do they realize that they'll be spending about that much in diapers every few weeks for the first few months?

Wonder what they'd do for free diapers?

If they can barely afford gas, how can they afford that baby? Poor thing...

"Dixon and Willoughby" is a sensible name?

This really did start out to be a joke..then the media just took off with it..the radio station isn't holding him to this.
And altho I like Dixon and Willoughby, I wouldn't want to name my children that lol

Well if they had a Geo Metro a $100 worth of gas would go pretty far. That much gets me about 3 weeks worth of gas even in my SUV....but I've got a super short drive to work at the moment.

But good grief...

"Friends of the couple have reportedly offered up to $300 to name the baby. David said he liked that idea, and now the couple has put the offer to name their child on the open market."

I'm sorry but I would never sell out my kid's identity over a few hundred bucks.
