Our son is an 18-20 in a husky, about ready for an adult small. What brands or department stores usually carry the husky size? What waist would a husky 20 be in a men's waist? Finding clothes is getting tough.

JC Penney or Old Navy should have a decent selection. Lands End used to carry husky, not sure if they still do.

Unfortunately Sears is closed over by me, lands end had very nice selection,in husky, and Sears regular brands carried it too.

Not as much good luck with old Navy, and jc pennies are only good for slack/uniform pants. I am tired of getting him sweatpants!

Just figure out what size he needs in men's pants. It will probably be a 34 or 36 waist. If he's short, you'll have to have the pants hemmed or learn to do it yourself. The shortest men's inseam I usually see is 29. It's easy to shorten pants though, I can do a pair in about 15 minutes.

34/36 waist is man size husky. I don't think he is as big.

In hate dealing with dressing rooms, but I guess I will have to deal with it , as to pinpoint his size.

I looked at several size charts for boys husky clothes. Lee said the waist was 35 for their boys husky 20. Dickies was smaller, I think 33. I know with girls plus sizes there's some variation between brands, and a 16.5 is the same fit as a women's 8 in some brands and a women's 12 in others. It looks like there many be that much variation between the boys husky sizes in different brands.

Do you have a measuring tape? Usually for men's pants you put it around the hips where the pants will be worn, and that gives you the waist size. It used to be easy to buy men's pants by waist size, but now there are different fits for blue jeans, so they have to try them on to find the right fit. My husband refused to try on jeans for 15 years, just said to buy him a 36 waist relaxed fit, and one day he noticed his jeans were big and baggy compared to everyone else, and asked why I was buying him old man jeans.

My brother wore 'huskies' as a kid so I had to stop and read this thread. It brought back memories.

I'd think there's be conversion charts for various sizes -- Just as European and USA sizes are different. Take the kid shopping and see. Penny's would be a good place to start.

IIRC, I found them at Walmart and Brothers which is the boy part of Justice.

Some place that may be worth a try is The Buckle. They are pricey, but they will do alterations for free.

Once they start outgrowing boy's clothes, I have had some luck with American Eagle. I don't think I've bought the mens
jeans, but I do buy shorts there when I can find them on sale.
