Because you post a lot here, but never offer any info about yourself or your kids. There have been a handful of posters over the years in this forum who have a lot of opinions on parenting, but don't have kids themselves. I find it interesting, and I find them easy to spot.
Edit: I take that back. You did mention that you are older and had babies long ago. I wonder even more what your point is with these threads. To tell us we're bad parents, or are not being truthful if we say we are good parents?

I have several kids.
I have said that before.
It's okay for people to ask questions - I don't think "having kids" is a requirement for this forum, is it? But even if it is, I qualify, so . . .

Paranoia strikes deep!

I guess I'm just wondering what the virginity comment is about.
Was just making a point that in the summertime (and all year long), many teenagers are raising hell - having parties and having sex (despite the fact that they also may be working or taking classes - and despite what their parents think they are doing).
No one tells their parents: "Hey - I'm going to an unchaperoned party tonight - might drink and smoke and have sex" - they all say: "We're going to the movies," or "the mall," or "a small get-together" at someone's house where then parents are supposedly home.
Teenagers lie to get to be able to do whatever they want to do. I don't think this is news. Most of you know this firsthand.

Yep, nothing worse than a teen having to announce to your dad that you had sex/are pregnant!
It's amazing that all of the parents responding have stellar teens who are doing nothing but working and volunteering.
No drinking/drugging/having sex.
I wonder whose kids are doing that?
Most kids lose their virginity at 16, I think, so . . . interesting!
Mine is 20, college student and living at home. I'm not a rigid parent. Thing is, she's a homebody and, frankly, a nerd. Has never had a girlfriend (she's gay). At her age she's welcomed to have a drink in our home, doesn't want to, doesn't like the smell or taste. She's not "stellar", it was damned hard to get her out of high school and into college. She is who she is, and it has nothing to do with me being in denial.
