My old landlords did. Son is a close 30 year old loser mommeno. Actually, the whole family, not too sure about the wife though, smoke it up together. The punk used to smoke weed outside our bedroom windows. Even rang MY DOORBELL asking my husband for tape for his pipe. My husband, whose kind of under a rock about certain things, thought he was talking about his exhaust pipe.
Bottom line, permissive parenting raises losers who can't make it in the real world, so end up the type who you can't get to leave your house. This one, couldn't hold or find a job until mommy wommy got him a job working as a teacher assistant. During his years of unemployment, mommy paid for his daily pack of cigarettes, multiple arm tattoos, BRAND NEW leased car, insurance, gas, OH did I add he totaled 2 cars, food, allowed his girlfriends of the month to stay over, so also he got a free hotel, all on mom and dads dime. A GROWN man. About once a month he would have a FIT and curse out his mother calling her every name in the book. I would hear word for word through my walls. Sometimes you'd hear a few plates break too. Father is EX military and allowed his wife to be spoken to like this by his son.
Yup, parenting at it's finest!!
Are you answering the original question here? If so, what does this have to do with how teenagers afford it? And just for the record, not everyone who smokes weed is a "loser" - and not all losers smoke weed. The key is moderation, and TONS of successful people (I guess you could include me) partake in moderate amounts/times. I'm in my 40s and work a full-time professional job, live alone in the insanely expensive Bay Area, drive a nice car, etc; and enjoy smoking a little weed at night, when I'm done with my responsibilities for the day. It helps immensely with my various ailments, and also does a good job of relaxing me after a hard day's work. That's the portrait of a responsible user.

Weed isn't expensive SPECIALLY in states where its legal, I personally would rather a teen smokes Cannabis than to smoke Cigs or drink liquor. Judging by OP's threads at this point i'm just starting to think you're baiting people into argument or possibly don't agree with the ideal of an allowance. Finance? Didn’t we learn anything from the mortgage crisis? Only use the drugs and alcohol you can afford. Plus, the bank agent was pretty insistent that they wouldn’t give me a loan for “that sort of thing”.
Also, I’m sure your story is $100% true, but those kids must have known you were listening in and were messing with you. Kids don’t say “Yeah, I want to have a party with drugs and weed, and stuff”. No one talks like that. I was the nerdiest kid at my high school and even didn’t talk like that. Unless they’re making fun of what older people think about kids.
Seriously, though, where do you think kids get the money? Where did you get the money when you were buying your $10 dime bags? Some combination of work, allowance, and gifts.
IDK...It sounds like the kind of thing that a kid that aspires to be a miscreant, but lacks either the social connections or courage or whatever to make it happen, would say.
In any case, most kids by that age have access to discretionary money. Those that didn't (when I was in HS) had parents that were overly controlling...The kind that still enforced a 9:30 bedtime on highschoolers.
Even kids that don't have a traditional burger flipping job often do odd jobs for cash; babysitting or mowing a lawn or letting the neighbor's dog out, and get money for Christmas or Birthday, or are given spending money by their parents.

Um, this has a lot to do with it. That plenty of PARENTS are paying for their kids weed. Nevertheless, smoking it with them. I don't care about the contributing members of society that smoke pot. I'm using him as an example and that bad parenting, (which is paying for your kids drugs)100% leads to losers like I posted about. Although, in my old state it's still illegal so I wouldn't go around bragging how you smoke pot, regardless of your age..
