summer camp in chicago: what is the good choice? (ideas, parents, play)

I am looking for a summer camp for my son. He is 5 and we are in chicago. I guess many parents like us will check what lab school could offer first. But are they really worth the cost? Also the camp is only from june to july. After that, the parents need to look for other camp again.

Any good ideas?

I'm not sure if your son is old enough, but the museum campus has a Summer Worlds camp that goes from 9-3 that is really neat. Its only a one-week program, though. It is coordinated by the Adler Planetarium. Its about first through fifth grades.

Where in the city are you and where are you looking for camp? Do you need full day or is it more for enrichment?

We are living in south loop of chicago. We need a full day camp. Generally since my son is shy. I want a camp can bring kids to outdoor all the time. Play with friends and learn from each other. Do u have other recommendations?
