MURRYSVILLE, Pa., Oct. 3 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania woman was awarded $100 in damages from Walmart over a 2-cent disparity between an item's tagged price and its scanned price.

Murrysville District Judge Charles Conway sided with consumer activist Mary Bach of Murrysville, whose civil suit against Walmart claimed the company intentionally charged 2 cents more for Banquet "Brown 'N Serve" sausage than the price on the tag at the location near Delmont, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Monday

Good for her. I see she recovered court costs as well.

"This is the fifth lawsuit we've had against this store for the same problem," Bach said. "This isn't an isolated incident."

I like Wal-Mart's excuse that it was "new packaging" that "confused" them. They're retailers, for crying out loud - this is their job.

Since we're living in an era of "protect corporations at all costs", I expect we'll soon see some posters calling for her to be put to death over this. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

Good for her, I am starting to lose patience with wal mart anymore. There are not what they used to be, I tried returning something to another store (still a wal mart tho) a week after buying it (it broke the first use) and the manager had to make a whole scene out of it and told me to please never shop at Wal Mart again. I like the store, but changes need to be made with how they handle problems for them to continue to prosper instead of becoming the next K Mart (which I predict will go completely under in the next 4 years)
