I will be driving from Philadelphia to Newton, NJ on the night before christmas. I am planning to leave about 4pm-4.30pm and stop for dinner on the way. I am wondering in which places should I expect to hit traffic? Also what time will I most likely arrive in newton if I leave at 4-4.30pm and stop for dinner on the way? I think I will probably face a lot of traffic leaving Philadelphia, but where else will I face traffic?

What route will you take? IMO there is no ideal route from Philly to Newton and whatever route you go by is liable to be jam packed. Many restaurants close early on Christmas eve especially outside the cities. So plan ahead.

Oh yeah sorry I forgot to put this. I will be taking I-95 N crossing to NJ around Ewing area, and then taking Exit 7B and U.S 206 NB all the way through lawrenceville, princeton, Hillsborough. And I am planning to stop around Applebees in Hillsborough, NJ on Route 206. I am familiar with the route as I do it a lot, just not at this time.
