Hi,

I interested in finding out if you can powerboat down the Susquehanna River from the Harrisburg area (or even north of) into the Chesapeake Bay?

Also, are there limitations on boat size permitted on the river?

Thanks for any info!

It's a fairly shallow river in most places, so i'm 99% sure there are restrictions on what boats can be used.

regardless of how deep the water is......there is a dam right there at rt 1 of the river.I think that would be the end of the ride.lol From that point on you can though.

Correct.

There is also a dam at the south end of Harrisburg (Dock Street Dam). (The large dam in Maryland near the mouth of the river is in Conowingo Dam; in fact I think the dam is right by US 1.) However, during the summer many people are out in the river in downtown Harrisburg on jet skis and small powerboats.
