Default moving to Pa

the current situation that my mother father and i are in is not a great one. we live in the town of Martinsville, Va and are looking to move. The bottom line is that the economy in the town is simply dead the last factory in town just shut down 500 employees. the left 250 include my father and that worries him. He is currently a furniture designer working at American of Martinsville. My mother is a certified language teacher(the degree i do not know). she tends to stick to spanish. My family and i are looking to move somewhere no where near this area. We want a Fresh start. I'm just wondering what type of economy is in PA, and what types of jobs are available?i have a few friends in the Mountville area and would prefer to move in that general area. Can anyone help me with the information i need?

Default Maybe NC

Not that I would recommend against moving to Pa. but, if your father wants to continue in the furniture industry, North Carolina might be a much better alternative. Take a look at Hickory NC for example.

Check out the Pittsburgh and western PA areas. PA public school teachers are paid fairly well, and there are quite a few furniture manufacturers in the area.
