I have seen that there and elsewhere, and I actually think it's a good idea, especially for those ramps that are shorter than short, or have bad merge visibility...some of the ones in the DC area are ridiculously short.

WE have a lot of Yield in Tucson and a few Stops.
Phoenix is almost all stop signs and I believe some stop lights.
I think that is better sometimes if the traffic flow is so much that you take your life in your hands to try to merge into traffic.
I think I-80 and the roads back east are going to be much calmer than what I am use to. Im looking forward to it.

In order not to exit the highway immediately after entering it, traffic has to accelerate to highway speeds from a dead stop AND do a double-lane change in a matter of 500 feet.

You have older drivers in pa who tend to drive more cautiously. I've seen drivers stop when they should have just merged and I always try to change lanes or slow to let them out. Then again I've seen people just pull out, often yacking on cell phones, like we're supposed to yield to them. Anyway, try driving in eastern Pa whch is alot worse especially with all the New Jersey drivers that somehow got licenses without ever having taken a driving test.
