Hi there! Here are a few resources, which might help you locate your father... I'll continue looking specifically for you, and will PM if I find exact information. But some of these sites require registration (even though they're free), so I can't enter information for you. I'm a reference librarian, and have used these for work & school previously, so I can stand behind their accuracy! And I'm not sure if anyone said this yet, but you should be checking Navy records... that's what branch of military he would've been in. I found his ship listed on a Navy site, but they didn't have enough records on people. The military is definitely your best bet in finding him, since military personnel are easier to locate than civilians. Anyway, try the links below, and I'll update you with any more info - good luck!

http://www.militarybrat.com/locating_individuals.cfm

http://www.cyndislist.com/military.htm (where most of the other sites linked from)

http://www.shipmates.com/index.cfm

http://www.vetfriends.com/

http://www.archives.gov/research/arc/topics/navy.html (broken link)

I would also urge you to visit a large library, even in your local area, and ask a librarian for assistance... this is a big part of our job, but helping you in person (and in your native language) would be much easier!! I swear, we're still more helpful than most of the internet - and usually a lot more trustworthy.
