I knew him as a kid in Nutley. I haven't heard anything in a while but I did hear a rumor after I moved that he died. That was 30 years ago.
I can't find any obits or information if he did pass. I tried the Star Ledger and the Newark Public Library by email but the paper had nothing and the library Obit people never replied. I think that means they didn't find anything. I just now thought to try the Nutley Public Library. I'll post if I find anything.
He had two brothers Carmine or Carmen and Joeseph.
If someone finds an obit please message me and let me know how to find it.
He went by Tommy. I'd like to know what happened to him, I want to be sure he got some justice for his death as it was allegedly a murder, in Newark. That is what I recall I was told. I don't know that he was the intended victim.
ask chowhound@competitiveeaters.com . we were all wards of the state at andrus childrens center in 1979. i think he may have heard from one of the alumni at the reunions they have once a year.
very tragic . he had alot of potential and was a born leader.
the last i heard was after he left andrus childrens center he went to live with a counselor named david bleywas (not sure of spelling). i don't know if he left there or what happened next. i guess that was 1979.
Bryan Glass mentioned a counselor named David Bleywas.
I found a David Blaiwas (DOB 8-13-1952) who was a camp counselor at Camp Boiberik in Rhinebeck NY in the 70's. He had attended the camp from 1962-1965 and the camp closed in 1979. It appears that he is now an acupuncturist.

If this is the same person perhaps he would know what happened.
