The son Sweet Baby James by James Taylor was written about his brother Alec's son. They all were originally from Chapel HIll, N.C. but Alec died somewhere in Florida years ago. Anybody know where Baby James is now?

Baby James was put up for adoption, and then his parents later married. He grew up in my hometown in NC, and his name is Edward. He's married, with at least 2 kids, and I think lives in Charleston.

Nope, actually they moved to Wilmington, NC. Here's a portrait of one of his daughters: Back to Gallery

I went to high school with all of them. Brent and Alex had a baby while she was a senior in high school or shortly after graduation. That child was placed for adoption and was named Edward. I believe he still lives in N.C. Later they married and had another son who was Sweet Baby James. At one point Brent found her first son and brought him into the fold. But I'm not sure if Alex lived long enough to get to know him.

Brent's Mom was a nurse and Brent pierced my ears with a surgical needle, tailor's thread, ice cubes and alcohol. Ahhhh the good old days. My ears got infected and it was a real mess. Several of us walked around school with bloody knotted threads in our ears and we were supposed to pull the knots through all through the day. Geezzz it's a wonder we didn't lose our ears. Brent certainly was not the only one doing it in those days.
