I am unable to find someone that I am looking for in Ireland. I have their families names, but I cannot find them. I have done several people searches without any luck. What am I missing? Could someone provide me with information on how to find someone in Ireland? The family is from Dundalk County Louth Ireland. The mom and dad both still live there. I know the sons live in Dublin... I think Dublin City. One is single and lives alone. The other lives very close with his fiance. I am not sure where their sister lives, but it is 30 minutes or so away from Dundalk County Louth & Dublin she lives with her boyfriend.

I am actually from Dundalk never mind Ireland. Best bet is to check this website out eircom phonebook online: residential and business name search directory for Ireland type in the family name and the place (Dundalk) and change the radio button from Business to Residential.

You were born in the 1930's?
Why would the friend fail to tell you such a simple thing.
I could see a relative of yours not wanting to reveal the location in scenarios where they were not on good terms with you or your father. But a friend of yours......
Ask them again and let them know if they could do you one favor the rest of your life it would be to locate your father's grave. Being a friend, no, they won't abandon you as far as favors in the future but it lets them know how important it is to you on the death location of your father.

There was a fire at the National records office in Ireland in 1922, however not all records were destroyed and the 1901 and 1911 census records are among the records that still exist.

The National Archive in Ireland may also be able to give you some advice on tracing a relative and finding a grave. You could also try church records.
