Has anyone here taken the counselor course? I'd like to ask you a few questions about it if so. Please let me know either on this thread or via DM. Thank you.

I don't think you need, if you have a smartphone, go download iHeart radio App, then go to David Ramsey's channel (FREE)

You will learn a lot of those callers and the advice he gave to the callers. Wish you best of luck.

What the heck are you talking about?? This doesn't answer the question at all. She wants firsthand information about Dave Ramsey's Certified Financial Counselor course (or whatever it's called), not where to go to listen to his show.

I hope you get some (real) answers on the forum, I'm curious about it as well.

I am not a Dave Ramsey fan at all. I think he is only worth listening to if you are bad with money. Otherwise everything he says is basically common sense.

So you're saying that you're not a fan of common sense?

Some people need common sense repeated to them A LOT for it to start to sink in.

Is common sense worth hundreds or thousands of dollars. He has been making millions from people with no common sense.

Is that somehow worse than making millions from people with lots of common sense?

The difference between Ramsey and a lot of other folks hawking financial advice is that every single bit of information in his books, seminars, etc, is also available absolutely free through his radio show. Some people like to have the books so they can digest the information at their own pace, re-read things if needed, and circle/underline/highlight important passages that you want to revisit. Some people get more motivated to change by the live events, and some people benefit from the accountability of other folks going through Financial Peace University.

As long as he doesn't withhold information from his radio show to force people to spend money on the other stuff in order to get the full details of his program I don't have a problem with him making a nice living from it.

Well, clearly there are a BUNCH of people who need his help. He makes a very good living helping people with their financial struggles, and help many people find a path to financial independence. Yet he's a bad man for doing those things because it's common sense?

Well the lack of common sense is a very costly affair so yes it can have a monetary value.
