My parents give me money from time to time and I have learned to save it. So I had wanted to buy some concert tickets, and I had the money but needed a credit card to buy the tickets online, since that was the only option.
I asked both parents if I could use their cards and I would give them the money after buying the tickets, which I would have done, because again I had the money. But they said no.
So I ended up buying one of those prepaid reloadable credit cards and bought the tickets myself.
But why would they say no, even though I am paying them back right then and there?
They probably thought you were trading their inconvenience for your convenience.
Even if you immediately gave them the cash, they would then have to do something with the cash, plus track the charge on their credit card and make sure it got paid on time. Maybe they don't like to use their credit cards to withdraw cash; and maybe they are trying to keep their credit card usage in check.
Obviously, the best answer is to ask, but, be prepared to answer why you couldn't simply buy one of those prepaid credit cards and use it for your own tickets in the first place... particularly since they had already given you the cash to do so.

I think your parent's made a good decision. You are a young adult, why not get your own CC. The money they gave you over the years got saved by you (SO YOU SAY).so you do know how to handle money..however, creating a Credit Rating is quite another. You did however find a way, by getting a prepaid CC. Maybe your folks had some things on their cards, they were paying off??
As a grown adult, it's long over due to learn all the pitfalls of credit cards. There's a reason maybe you couldn't get your own???
In other words, your question can be answered, if you just ask them why..other than that..stranger's on the internet simply cannot offer much into the insights as why, in your particular personal history, to inform you about something, that you likely already know

You're the same person who doesn't have a job, doesn't go looking for one, lives at home and wants a free ride from Medi-Cal.
