Did you receive a bill or bills informing you of the amount you owed above and beyond what your insurance paid? If so, you did have a "clue", you just chose ignored it.
And you could have also asked the providers for estimates ahead of time so you knew what to expect. Another "clue".
I ignored because I thought it had to be a mistake since I'm not in position to hand some $2000
It was a case of not having the money. Not many people have $2000 laying around to give to a hospital that already has billions of dollars. I'm sure they won't close down behind my $2000
That the hospital has money in no way relieves you of paying your debt. What's wrong with you?
I would suggest a class or two at a community college! They would help far more than a message board.
