Have I just woken up from a coma and the definition of "Minimum" and "Daily" have changed?

Most banks I have dealt with have Average Daily Balance, that would be much better for those who might touch into the amount needed to be maintained in their ADB.

I agree with Elnina and others, find a credit unit, or bank that does not require such a high daily balance, unless you can afford to leave that much sitting in their bank at all times.

Wells Fargo might be one to try, they have ADB but you still would need to keep an ADB of $1,500. https://www.wellsfargo.com/checking/everyday/

Go find a good Credit Union that you can join, and you'll not have to worry about all that.
My CU isn't without fees. I like them and they're reasonably low. I pay $15/yr for the visa debit card. Then again, I usually get $50-100/yr in profit-sharing.

Downsides are it's local only. There's non-fee ATMs around but they're often not convenient and not that many. I'm not going to go drive across town to avoid a $4 fee, so I do get hit with them from time to time. They're pretty prehistoric. Others aren't but being able to deposit checks by phone would be really nice, especially since I've moved and the nearest branch is 40 miles from my house. I still am in the area for work so I can stop by when work sends me that way but, yeah, I'll probably be switching soon. The lack of local is just not working for me at this point.
