If you won a million bucks playing lottery what would you do with all that cash?

One million isn't that much after NYS/NYC piled onto federal taxes that come off the top. You'll get even less if opt for lump sum payout.

So say one received about $500k or so when all is said and done. That isn't even enough to buy a decent house in many areas of the city. An apartment perhaps, but otherwise you may have to look into moving elsewhere if home ownership was the goal with that lottery money.

I'd first pay off all debts, then invest what is left for retirement. With perhaps taking a bit off the top for "fun".

Sadly one million dollars isn't what it once was, so maybe you ought to up the amount to five or so....

I would start a modeling career and cure all the AIDs. After that, I will be famous so I can force De Blasio to fix the seafood on City Island.

Cut my retirement plan from 10 years to 5 and buy a place upstate for hunting and fishing. At least $750,000 would be in the bank, possibly in an annuity.

I am assuming you mean a million after taxes. Put half away in an annuity for my daughter, 250k for her retirement, 250k short term accounts that would be liquid assets in case... The remaining half pay off our mortgage and Jeep for about 170k. Spend 15k on a vacation. Give away about 50k to family and charity. 15 k in our bank account. 100 k in my post tax roth, keep an other 100k in my wifes for her to do with as she wishes. The remaining 100k would likely go for daughters college. I would feel rich cause my biggest expense would be con ed. I would be free to sell my house or just stay and have an additional 1800 a month with no mortgage and car note. It would be great. Or I would spend it recklessly on whores, causing divorce.

I'd use it to pay for college for 2 kids, and for travelling around the world.

Oh yeah, I'd probably pay off the mortgage too...Maybe hire someone to come in every day to scoop out the cat litter box.

If I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
Well I'd buy you a house (I would buy you a house)
And if I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
I'd buy you furniture for your house (maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
And if I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
I'd buy you a k-car (a nice reliant automobile)
And if I had a million dollars I'd buy your love
If I had a million dollars I'd build a tree fort in our yard
If I had a million dollars you could help, it wouldn't be that hard
If I had a million dollars maybe we could put a little tiny refrigerator in there somewhere
(You know we could just go up the and hang out)
(Like open the fridge and stuff and, girl, there'd be foods laid out for us)
(With little pre-wrapped sausages and things, hmm)
(They have pre-wrapped sausages but they don't have pre-wrapped bacon)
(Can you blame them? Yeah)
If I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
I'd buy you a fur coat (but not a real fur coat that's cruel)
And if I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
Well I'd buy you an exotic pet (yep, like a llama or an emu)
And if I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
Well I'd buy you John Merrick's remains (all them crazy elephant bones)
And if I had a million dollars I'd buy your love
If I had a million dollars we wouldn't have to walk to the store
If I had a million dollars we'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more
If I had a million dollars we wouldn't have to eat Kraft dinner
(But we would eat Kraft dinner)
(Of course we would, we'd just eat more)
(And buy really expensive ketchups with it)
(That's right, all the fanciest dijon ketchups, hmm)
If I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
Well I'd buy you a green dress (but not a real green dress, that's cruel)
And if I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
Well I'd buy you some art (a Picasso or a Garfunkel)
If I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
Well I'd buy you a monkey (haven't you always wanted a monkey?!)
If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love
If I had a million dollars, if I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars, if I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars, if I had a million dollars
I'd be rich

Probably move to a warmer climate with semi decent public transportation where I can afford to buy a small apt. and invest the rest for my retirement needs.
