Got an offer from Citizen One for a personal loan which I am considering in order to consolidate my debt at a lower interest rate. I've seen several negative reviews, but as we know people are much more likely to leave a review after a negative experience than a positive one, so I'm wondering how many people out there have had positive experiences with them.
EDIT: I'm not looking for advice on personal loans in general, I'm interested in hearing from people who have dealt with this specific lender.
IMO, before on considers a debt consolidation loan, one should first make sure they have a handle on the spending habits leading to their debt. Citizen One is only one of many lenders making a profit on debt consolidation loans.
More interest: A debt consolidation loan can lower your monthly payments, but you may pay more interest in total over the life of the loan. Asset risk: With a secured debt consolidation loan, you will put your house, car, retirement fund or other assets at risk. You could lose your home and other property if you’re not able to pay your loan. Opportunity for more debt: When you move debt out of credit card and other accounts into a debt consolidation loan, you may be tempted to make new charges on your old accounts before you’ve paid off the loan, creating new debt.
Since the bank is giving you the money I think he only question is are you getting good terms and can you make the payments on time. Depending on how much you are borrowing there are a couple of internet lenders that may work. I would also try a credit union.

Well, I did look at their "Examples" at 7.19% (Lowest) and 15.48 (highest) I doubt they will risk a loan on anyone below 750.

My credit is excellent, so that's not an issue.

I'm more concerned about screw ups on their end, payments not getting credited properly, inappropriate late fees or other fees being mistakenly applied, difficulty of getting in touch with someone to resolve problems or get information, user friendly website, etc.

Well, to be honest, I also read the reviews....Many are complaining about contacting them, weekends or late in the day....My bank (US Bank) is open 24/7 and has helped me servaler times with issues....
Usually you'll have a few "They were great" or "They sucked".and the middle is "Yeah, it was ok".This is nothing but "They sucked"
Never mind, I went ahead and applied to see what kind of terms they would give me and they offered double digit interest rate (my credit score is over 800).

Thanks for telling me, I did think of applying, but if you're getting double digit with that kind of score then they're crazy.
