Yes, many will see a benefit of a few hundred dollars or maybe a couple of thousand if they are really lucky.

It will be interesting to see how much it benefits Trump once he releases his tax returns (like every other president has).

I do hope you're not holding your breath waiting for Trump to release them. Besides, ask anyone, Trump doesn't pay taxes so how can he possibly benefit from the new tax law.

Amazing that people are fixated on this issue. People seem to think they'll get details on which banks are lending his real estate projects money and how much the Russians are paying him. Just shows they have no idea what's in a tax return.

His return is audited every year by the IRS yet everyone thinks there's fraud in them, then turn around and profess that the IRS makes things up to nail people for taxes. I find it all very amusing.

Did you compare your total tax paid compared to last year? Or you are getting a smaller refund?

Yes, about 1300 less withheld, but doesn't make up for 50% less in federal refund.

what caused the federal refund to go down, more income, less deductions, less credits, less withholding?

With the reduction in withholding tables this year many people had less money withheld so they may have a drop in their tax liability but the reduction in the withholding causes the refund to go down. Just means they had the money every paycheck instead of in a lump sum at the end.
