When the subscription nears its end. They will bill you for another year, and probably offer a discount if you rebew for a couple of years.

I NEVER put any subscription on a cc. They sometimes make it difficult to cancel auto renewal, which you must know.

And sometimes the charges will appear looong before the subscription ends.

AARP tries that with us. Our subscription ends in dec. But they start sending bills as early as june.

If the money runs out, theyll stop sending the magazines automatically. They may as noted, send you another one or two copies in case you want to continue.

But a check ( or money order) will certainly secure only the subscription you want.

Yes, I must purchase it via credit card. If it's as simple as in 12 months when it comes time for the auto-renewal, if there are no funds on the card, no magazines will ship, that would work out great. If it does somehow auto-renew with zero funds on the prepaid credit card, I hope I won't get a bill from the credit card in the mail.

My personal opinion then is that i dont do business that way.

Ive never had a magazine refuse to honor a subscription without a credit card.

But must be an online magazine then?

Every mag i get or have bought has a card to buy a subscription in it you just fill out and check the bill me later box to get a bill to pay via check. You can also pay by cc if you wish.

Ive had cc s and my checking account drained before using such auto renew services, nope no more.

I control how they get my money, and if they dont like my way, i dont buy from them. Simple really.

Best of luck to you...
