I use venmo for everything. I used Venmo to tip the guys who installed an appliance.

If you don't use it than fine, but why do you care how they get their cash?

Apps are essentially that without the need to carry the actual cash around....

Granted - it's a personal preference. I have a few friends that refuse to accept golf bets from apps. But that's more of a gloating thing as no one in the bar sees you transfer money from a phone...

I think for private business - a quick heads up on payment type would be helpful. Don't assume everyone should have cash or payment app.

Everyone DOES have the ability to have cash on hand.
Many people choose not to, and that number is growing.

If you want paid in cash, you need to specify that upfront, before the service is performed.

To answer the actual question, my wife got cash at the grocery store once when using Apple Pay. I haven’t done it myself, but she did.
