I don't know what the company uses for projection, but our returns are sitting at 8.3% as of yesterday. However, we've taken out 2 different 401k loans since 2013 (both are paid off, one was to purchase our home), so we've gained a real estate asset that we didn't have before.

While the OP is not in a good financial position, there is at least something to work with. In the same position I would put the $150k into growth funds to get a higher return if things go OK in the market.
