Looking beyond the current recession, the increasing cost of living and increasing federal deficit is not a good thing for our kids future.
I feel the standard of living has gone down in the past 10 years regardless of what we say about the economy, but I was just wondering....
How many of us can look into our kids eyes and tell them that their lives are going to be better than ours ? Most of us are probably telling them "Thanks to your money, we could live a better life, good luck with yours."
Keep in mind that the high standard of living that many people enjoyed for the last 10 years (usually with the help of credit cards or home equity lines of credit) was not real. It was artificially pumped up by credit abuse, both on the part of our government, and on the part of individual consumers.
What goes up must come down. So, it may wind up being even worse than you think.
Shouldn't this be in the Personal Finance Forum, and not Moving?
