Okay so I got screwed when Amex slashed limits and closed accounts. I am shopping for a new major credit card and knowing the obvious recession and tightening belts I was wondering if anyone had an insight on who is issuing new credit cards?

Thank you!

Try a second tier 'super regional' bank... They are working to expand their presence and visibility as well as taking a bit more risk than the "money center' types.

Presuming that you have a good FICO Pentagon Federal Credit Union, Yes you do qualify for membership, you have to pay 20 or 25 (once) to join an organization to support our troups.

1.25% cash back on everything each month except gasoline (5% for Gas).

PenFed is one of the top 10 CUs in the nation.

Or try fatwallet finance forum for ideas (they love PenFed over there)
