Are you planning on trying to get a Platinum card or is this just one of your usual rants about a perceived lying/conniving female coworker?

It comes with concierge service and VIP airport club access, and you can get free companion first-class tickets. So in its own way it's a pretty sweet deal.

So to get the companion first class tickets, I would need to buy a ticket in first class too, right?
For the VIP airport club, does this mean any airport in the US?
You have me intrigued!

I think first or business class, yes. IIRC you get one a year but by all means look into it yourself if you're interested, I may be off the mark.

Allows you entry to AA, Delta, and Continental airport clubs all over the world.

The requirement is probably that you have a pulse, as it is for most credit cards. They whole 'prestige' thing is manufactured to a large degree. They want you to believe the card is more exclusive than it actually is.

You need more than a pluse when you are in your 30's. You are referring to when you are in college as a freshman

Yeah -- that happens. Hubby got his first Sears card when he applied in college.... by checking the Doctor box when it asked Mr. Mrs. Miss.....

Had a pretty high limit, too.... which was funny. IIRC -- 1500 bucks. A lot for the time. I don't think there was a Sears around State College (PA) back then.

We cancelled it several years later, after they wouldn't issue me a spouse card with my own name... I had to be Mrs. Campbell.... and I didn't take his name when we got married. Jeez -- no one else had a problem with it. Except my mom....
