I hope it is okay to post this.
I received this email from someone who has my Elwood's littermate.
I can't believe this person did not say what color the mastiff is.
She could be fawn, apricot fawn or brindle. For sure she will have a black mask, all mastiffs do.

MASTIFF STOLEN - please crosspost
Mar. 1, 2008
14-month old intact female Mastiff taken from car at Homestead Suites in Secaucus, N.J. She was in town for the dog show.
Last seen at 7:15 a.m., crated in the back of the breeder's SUV. Was left in truck while breeder went into the room to attend to some last minute details. She came out at 7:20 a.m. and the dog was missing. The leash and water bowl were also taken.
A police report has been filed and all shelters and vets are being notified.
The dog's name is Pounder (Bellawood No Doubt About It) and she is approximately 160 lbs.
Please keep Pounder and her breeders and owners in your thoughts and crosspost this message to get the word out.
I personally think I would start faxing info to each and every vets office AND to any Petsmarts and Petco or if there is another chain more common up there.
Mastiffs aren't the most common dog. I can imagine how they must be feeling.
Thanks Riv.
I heard back: the stolen mastiff is a fawn, and fortunately she is microchipped--but she's still gone.
You might also post it on Dogster.
If she is micro-chipped, I personally would start faxing out flyers to each and every vet in the state. Someone has to have unlimited long distance and a fax number. Get the word out.
My heart goes out to them for the loose of their baby. They are such gorgeous animals. We have one that visits our local Petsmart with his Mommy and he is so friendly and sweet.

If it's a HomeAgain chip, that happens automatically (the faxes to all vets) once the owner reports the dog missing.
The owner can also go online and print out flyers from the HomeAgain site.
There's a lost dog section on petfinder.com too. You could post there. I posted once for a cat we had that came up missing on the day we were moving - must have slipped out the door as we were carrying things out. I got e-mails from tons of other companies offering to cross post.
I wish them luck. I had a fawn / black mask english mastiff years ago. Adored that dog. What a sweetie. Great breed.
Thanks for posting that, honeycrisp, and I apologize for not posting in both threads. If I ever find out the details, I will let y'all know. As it is, this is the brief email I received yesterday:
