I don't know if this goes in Pets or Aviation but just wanted to post this here because it's a sad and preventable story. If the flight attendant requires an owner to put their pet in the overhead bin, don't do it. The airlines admit there's not enough air circulation. This left the owner to find their pet had died during the flight and them crying in the aisle.
Very sad indeed. Attendant certainly should have known better.
I have never flown with a pet (mine are small--rabbit and two guinea pigs), but I'm sure I will one day and there is NO way that my pets will ever be out of my sight. EVER. I hope an airline becomes pet friendly so I can choose to fly that one without any worries.
Very sad. however the owner of the dog should have been more vocal about the dog being in the bag and refuse to put the dog in the overhead bin.
