I have acquired a rather large collection of snakes over the last year, starting with one Ball Python... now at 17 snakes total, with 9 Ball Pythons, 5 Corn Snakes, a Western Hognose, Jungle Carpet Python, and finally a Stimson's Python. The last one is fairly uncommon in the United States, so I thought I'd share a little about him on here.
Originating from inland Australia, their scientific name is Antaresia Stimsoni, and they are among the smallest pythons in the world. I don't know much more about them yet, but he sure is a sweetie! If anyone is considering a unique snake that's still easy to keep, I'd highly recommend these guys... if you can find one, that is.
I just lucked into this one, receiving him with a rack purchase from a guy I know locally. I'd love to breed him and introduce more of the species into this area, but haven't been able to find a girl for him yet. Anyway, here is James the Stimson's:
