My husband and I are building a home in a new developement (better school district for our 2 daughters). Builders are predicting we will make settlement sometime between late spring and early summer 2008. Problem is we need to sell our house we currently live in. It is 4 yrs old with 4bdrm and 3 baths and finished basement. Our realtor/friend lives in our neighborhood now and also plans to move to the new neighborhood too with the same time frame. He put his house up for sale yesterday. His family decided to sell now and rent a place until their house is finished. I want to be proactive about our future move. When is the best time to put our home on the market? Should we be doing the same as our friend? I don't want to do it too late for fear we won't sell in time. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Houses in Downingtown do not sell fast. I have lived here for 20 years and I think if your realtor/friend is selling now then you should. If he/she is a realtor they probably no more about the market then you or me.

what neighborhood are you moving too? Are you still going to be in Downingtown? I thought the schools in Downingtown are great?
