My husband and I are about to have a child and decide to move to suburbs. We are both UPENN grads and have to commute everyday for a year or two. We hope to find a quiet and safe apartment with nice nature environment for $1200. Commuting time less than 45 minutes would be a plus. Any suggestions? Many thanks.

I'll throw West Chester,Westtown,East + West Goshen area out there. Beautiful area. Ridley Creek State Park is about 3 miles east of there, theres 50 miles of hiking trails, there is a 5 mile bike/walking loop, trout fishing, horseback riding etc. Most of the apartment complexes are right on RT 3. which is where Market Street(West Philly) ends up.

Media would cut your commute 20 minutes but for some reason West Chester has done a great job with apartment complexes. Most of the Media apartment complexes I know of are fairly old.

Good luck.
